Dr Gitta Madani
Dr Gitta Madani is a Consultant Radiologist at Imperial College NHS Trust.
She has a specialist interest in all aspects of head and neck imaging, including maxillofacial, temporomandibular joint, dental, thyroid, ENT, orbital and skull base imaging, reporting all modalities including CT, MRI, and plain and contrast radiography.
Specialist imaging techniques include:
- Sialograms (for salivary symptoms)
- Dacrocystograms (for watery eyes)
- Barium and video swallows (for swallowing problems)
- Ultrasound and image-guided interventional procedures, including ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration and biopsy.
Dr Madani also performs minimally invasive treatment of salivary duct strictures (balloon dilatation) and stones (basket retrieval) by passing specialised instruments through the natural opening of salivary ducts under imaging guidance.
Dr Madani undertook her medical training at Imperial College Medical School and subsequently trained in radiology at the Royal Free and University College Hospitals. She also trained as a dentist and has previous experience in head and neck surgery. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists, a fellow of the faculty of dental surgery and a member of the faculty of surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons and has an active interest in teaching, training and research.
Dr Madani at The Platinum Medical Centre
Dr Madani supports Mr Cascarini with patients that he sees at The Platinum Medical Centre. She runs an ad hoc clinic on Friday afternoons and offers the following to patients with swollen glands or neck lumps:
- Head and neck ultrasound
- Needle biopsy
She also runs an interventional salivary gland service at The London Clinic.
Dr Kate Cheesman
Dr Kate Cheesman is a Consultant Anaesthetist at Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK. Her specialist interests include anaesthesia for plastic reconstruction surgery, Maxillo-facial, ENT and Obstetrics. Whilst her anaesthesia training has been in Central London she has also worked overseas in Australasia and Africa and undertook a anaesthetic research fellowship at University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. She’s a keen skier, sailor and traveller.
